METALLICA, SLIPKNOT And BRING ME THE HORIZON To Headline 2023 Edition Of U.K.’s DOWNLOAD Festival

The legendary 20-year heritage of the United Kingdom’s Download festival is being honoured with four headlining concerts for the first time ever. Headliners SLIPKNOT, BRING ME THE HORIZON, and METALLICA, who will give two unforgettable shows, were announced today. This year, the event will take place over four days from June 8–11, 2023, at Donington Park in Leicestershire, the birthplace of rock. On Thursday, November 10, general tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. via www.downloadfestival.co.uk
Other U.K. and international heavyweights performing at the 20th-anniversary celebration include EVANESCENCE, PARKWAY DRIVE, DISTURBED, PENDULUM, ARCHITECTS, GHOST, THE DISTILLERS, PLACEBO, ALEXISONFIRE, ASKING ALEXANDRIA, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, I PREVAIL, THE BLACKOUT (reunion), FEVER 333, STRAY FROM THE PATH, LO More than two million rock fans have travelled to Donington over the previous 20 years for the event, as evidenced by the headliners and other performers revealed today.
The multi-million album sensation METALLICA will make up for their absence by headlining two nights of the festival, Thursday and Saturday, when they make their long-awaited return to Donington. No songs from any of the two shows will be played more than once, giving fans the full METALLICA experience. The ideal way to honour Download’s 20th anniversary with probably the best rock band in history.

After years of mounting the lineup since their initial performance in 2006, Steel City’s best BRING ME THE HORIZON will headline the Download festival for the first time. BRING ME THE HORIZON are a great British rock success story after going to number one in the UK with their Grammy-nominated album “Amo” and headlining Reading and Leeds festivals in 2022. In a moment that will define their careers, their enormous stage performance will rock the Download festival.
Frontman Oli Sykes of BRING ME THE HORIZON says:
“Download festival was one of the first festivals I ever attended as a punter. It was our first amazing festival experience to play as a band, and now the fact that we are headlining such a prestigious event blows my mind. We can’t wait to bring a whole new sound and show for the Download audience.”
The Grand Finale…
SLIPKNOT, the festival’s main act on Sunday night, will deliver the festival’s grand conclusion. With two U.K. No. 1 albums under their belts and four headline performances at Download shows under their belts, the Iowa nine-piece is well known. SLIPKNOT are firmly back and prepared to unleash both new and classic classics at the mighty of all Download festivals after the publication of their experimental seventh album, “The End, So Far.”
