As I reflect on my 25-year journey with the guitar, I am reminded of how far I’ve come and the evolution I’ve embraced as a modern musician. The Journey so far

Hey there! Let me take you on a little journey through my life as a musician. For the past 25 years, I’ve strummed my guitar, feeling the magic of music weave through every chord and picking pattern. From my earliest days as a curious teenager experimenting with riffs in my bedroom to becoming a seasoned instructor, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from all walks of life—young and old, beginners just starting out, and advanced players refining their craft. Each lesson has been a beautiful exchange of knowledge and passion, and I cherish every moment of it.

My journey truly began in a bustling analogue recording studio during college. While I was diving deep into recording techniques, I was also taking the stage at dark, dingy pubs and smoke-filled basements. There, I played alongside local bands and talented musicians, and I even found myself performing at larger venues, like stadiums and local festival stages, collaborating with orchestras and a myriad of artists. Those formative years ignited a fire in me, leading to countless hours of experimentation with knobs and dials, capturing raw sound in the beautiful warmth of analog. There was something incredibly satisfying about the physicality of it all—the way the equipment felt in my hands, the anticipation of hitting “record,” and the joy of layering tracks in real-time.

But as the world evolved, so did the music industry. The shift towards digital platforms called for a new approach. Learning to navigate DAWs and audio interfaces became essential in my journey as a modern musician. Recording, mixing, and mastering in the box required a different set of skills, and although the transition posed its challenges, it also provided a wealth of opportunities for creativity and collaboration. I realized that embracing this digital landscape was vital—not just for my own music, but to better serve my students who were also eager to navigate the modern recording world.

In response to this, I embarked on the journey of blogging. This space became a platform not just for sharing my experiences, but also a hub for learning and growth. I dove into web design and graphic design, and explored the intricacies of legislation and policies affecting our industry. My goal became clear: to create a community where analog roots and digital innovations could coexist, inspiring both myself and others to flourish as modern musicians.
